There are obvious exceptions to the no navies rule with major Mediterranean empires like the Byzantines and Fatimids, but I think it's fine if that's reflected in those cultures having techs that allow for faster/cheaper embarkment. Which is pretty well modeled by troops moving to the sea taking longer and becoming more expensive to maintain than they were previously.

The way it works in CK3 is actually way more historically accurate as there were no standing navies in the Middle Ages, and all fleets were basically built or rented ad-hoc as needed. If that aspect of it adds to the strategic and roleplaying elements of the game, I'm all for it.

I really like building Great Works in CK2 and I hope they add that aspect back in eventually in some form, but I am interested to see how it plays now that they're designed to be county-locked bonuses that everyone in the vicinity will covet, sort of like a secular Holy Site. It really is cool to come back from a Crusade or raid with some treasure beyond just oodles of gold, and I also enjoy the ability to throw the odd saint's finger or shiny sword to someone I need to get onside if mounds of gold aren't enough to do the trick. I'll miss artifacts for sure, that's the change I get the least. I'm afraid that with the new auto-fleet system we'll get a spam of ridiculous sea invasions (get ready for that 16k Seljuk army landing in Scotland). Raising and managing coastal demesnes in order to have enough ships to move your army was a nice tactical layer in the game, specially when venturing overseas. Fleets: I know I'm on minority here, but I'm not fully convinced on armies automatically turning to fleets on water, in fact I hate that. Sprawling towns-villages: As seen on screenshots, I am still not convinced on how the map gfx looks on CK3 (I use terrain map 99% of the time). Things that I already know I will miss from CK2 on CK3 at launch: I'm sure some people will dislike some changes, myself included, but it's not like they're just ditching all the DLC features, most of the important ones will be in the new game in some form at least.
